How to Successfully Set & Achieve Goals

Ok, let’s be honest, 2020 has been less than great for most of us. The presence of Covid-19 has made both our personal and professional life a challenge.

Many people have been very unwell, and some have unfortunately passed away. I think most of us will be happy to say goodbye to 2020 and plan for so much more life and living during 2021.

Often at this time of year, we plan for the future and many people set New Year’s Resolutions, however, I think we all know the states on this, less than one per cent of the population report any actual progress towards their goals.

Why is this?

For me the answer is easy, the goals most people set are NOT “Well-Formed Outcomes” which is the recipe for successfully setting and achieving our goals, personals and professional!

This recipe changed my life, so I know it works.  In the coaching work, I do I am still amazed that so many people focus on what they do not want, rather than refining and developing a super clear outcome statement that will get them jumping out of bed at 5.00 am and getting stuck into the actions that will deliver their vision into reality.

It’s about ensuring all the key elements for success are present, this includes the resources required to make the outcome happen, the time, the strategy, the beliefs required and the ability to make that all-important first and second step in taking action.
