The ILM Level 3 Certificate In Workplace Coaching offers a professional introduction to coaching for team leaders and first line managers and for those who have or wish to develop their coaching skills and add to their management toolbox.

This qualification will give team leaders and managers the opportunity to move into a role as a coach in their workplace, and will also help them gain a detailed understanding of good practice in workplace coaching.

Candidates on this training programme will gain the knowledge and skills required to plan and organise a programme of coaching and be supported in developing the opportunity to put this into practice whilst receiving coaching and supervision from their programme coach / tutor.

This programme is delivered through a blend of Distance Learning (Home Study Pack), on the job practice and the guidance and support of a dedicated coach / tutor.

The programme is structured around professional coaching and supervision for the candidate. Students gain a sound understanding of the role of the coach and good practice in coaching which enables them to plan and organise coaching in their workplace. As they undertake the coaching programme, students use feedback in supervision sessions with their coach / tutor to reflect on and develop their effectiveness.

The programme of learning offers a combination of coaching and supervision sessions, set readings, individually defined CPD, real time learning and reflective reviews. Students develop their coaching skills supported by their coach / tutor, focusing on achieving and assessing the results for their team members and their organisation.

Programme Induction

  • Your role as coach in your workplace

  • Six hours of coaching (tutor support)

  • Developing your coaching skill and practice for 30 hours of workplace coaching with supervision

  • Continuing your professional development

  • 4 x 1 hr coaching & supervision sessions
    (by telephone or video link, Skype etc)

Assessment

Reflective review / assignments / coaching or mentoring diary / personal development plan

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements but participants will normally be either practising team leaders or first line managers or have a workplace coaching role, or be working toward this and have the opportunity to meet the assessment demands
